Rigenerazione – Padre/figlio
Personal Art Exhibiton
The Zyw family is a dynasty of artists distinguished by a creative continuity that spans three generations. Their story is a mix of personal experiences, historical events, and a deep connection to nature and artistic innovation. The exhibition highlights the “generational and artistic dialogue” between the works of Aleksander and those of his son Michael, revealing how shared and distinct themes emerge between artists bound by both familial and creative ties.
Michael Zyw’s work is defined by his exploration of the intrinsic relationship between art and nature, often incorporating organic materials and experimenting with innovative techniques. His “liquid paintings” are particularly renowned —works created using colors diluted in water, resulting in visual impressions of great delicacy and fluidity. Influenced by the transparency and movement of watercolor, these pieces aim to capture the essence of a reality in constant flux, where natural backgrounds, human figures, and objects blend into a single, harmonious impression.
A groundbreaking aspect of Michael Zyw’s work is his collaboration with the master glassmakers of Murano. He has created unique Murano crystal blocks that encapsulate color, effectively translating his “liquid paintings” into three-dimensional forms.
While Aleksander was an artist “always traveling and on the move”—both physically and spiritually — Michael is deeply rooted in his homeland, drawing constant inspiration from the “presence of his father and brother” and the surrounding landscape. The exhibition underscores how Aleksander’s works and Michael’s abstract or “liquid paintings“ are united by a profound attention to material and color. Their artistic journey is not only an individual narrative but a collective evolution that speaks to the richness and complexity of family ties within the landscape of contemporary art.
